Quick update for you:

Milton Keynes RAS

BT are currently investigating a non ISP specific issue with the Milton Keynes RAS. Broadband users in the Whitney area may be experiencing intermittent connectivity or total loss of service.

Unfortunately they are yet to locate the equipment causing the problem but assure us they are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue.

Further updates will be posted on the network status page as soon as they are available.

Rik

Shall we send them a map, Miriam? ;)

Maybe its a bit like my work used to be where someone used to like playing musical racks and would move the servers around without updating the documentation.

Used to make things time consuming when there was a problem.

Rik

Sounds very possible, Mitch.

Your line has been banded because of the fault. IDNet have requested a manual unbanding but the BT dept concerned close at 5. If BT don't pick it up, your line will start to lift anyway over the next 24-48 hours, Wingnutz.

Just off the phone - been banded by BT. Probably down to all the reboots of the modem over the last three days. Support will e-mail them to get it removed - hopefully !!

Cheers

And still enough time left in the working day for a quick Tea break! Amazing job to BT, and the updates from IDNet :thumb:

As promised support have got BT to kick whatever box they need to - sync has gone from 288 (banded) to 9300 with a 6db noise margin.

Thanks again to all in the idnet support team...

Rik

Sorry it happened on a bank holiday weekend. :(

How long will it take for my profile to catch up to my new sync ? Just ran a BT speedtest and still on a .25meg profile dispite now sync'ing at 9300+ ( an 8meg profile level)

The kitz site suggests such a large increase in preformance should filter through in around 4 hours.

As far as I can tell - i was out when the resync occured - i've been at the 9300+ mark now for 8 hours or so.

Am I just being too impatient and expectiing BT's systems to work better than they do ???

Cheers...

Rik

It should be hours, it could be days. If it's still stuck tomorrow, as support if they can get it nudged.
