RIP vs BGP - which is harder to learn

As you know I'm currently studying the CCNA which will qualify me to work with corporate LANs but am looking to do the certified professional which qualifies me to work with service provider networks and covers Border Gateway Protocol.

Just wondered how much more complex it is to program than Routing Information Protocol?

They don't read every post, Mitch, especially if not in the Help section, so if you want their advice, I'd suggest you email them direct, and perhaps point them at this thread, if you'd like a public response, or just let us know what they say?

I learnt RIP first, haven't done BGP, but I found RIP/RIPv2 very easy to get the basics of

Im guessing BGP would be harder as I dont think we touch it till this 2nd year

The CCNA material says it is covered in CCNP which I intend to do next year as I'd like to work at the service provider level.

I found RIP very easy to get to grips with and am at the part of the course where Packet tracer is used a lot more so that is cementing what I've learnt about subnetting which is good.
