Just thinking.

I hope my migration isn't a nightmnare like it was when I moved to Newnet where it flapped for the 24 hours.

Would be interested to know whether that is par for the course on 21CN?

Rik

Pretty smooth in my experience, Mitch.

I best write the number for tech support in case it goes pear shaped.

I'm a little uneasy that the date is a Friday.

I don't suppose they can bring it forward can they?

Rik

BT have done so before now. You will know when migration takes place as there will be a few minutes loss of sync.

I've mailed support to ask and told them that it was you that successfully twisted my arm (I'd be grateful if you'll let it go now please)

or nearly 2 weeks in my case (Bungling untrained BT engineers)
If you truly believe you need to pick a mobile phone that 'says something' about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality. A mental illness, maybe - but not a personality

OK, if you insist, Mitch.

When I moved to MAX with another ISP ages ago I had one week's downtime thanks to a failed line card at the exchange that just happened to fail when I ordered the upgrade)

Rik

I had that over Xmas. BT thought I was in sync, I wasn't. That was 10 days due to the break. Luckily, the second line wasn't affected.

I think if I ever end up working from home I'll get enhanced care on the line so that at least BT will get off their backsides at weekends.

I'm really looking forward to joining ID net, its BT's incompetence that bothers me.

Rik

Wise move, Mitch, and cheaper than a second line.

I've got two lines but one of them has an ADT monitored alarm system connected so cant use broadband on that.

How much is enhanced care and is it available on the home packages?

pctech

No because being a security system I had to have an extension wired into a cupboard and the socket was replaced with a plate behind which the alarm is hard wired to the line.

There are devices they can fit to cut ADSL (I think the signalling uses similar frequencies) but the senior engineer said he didn't advise fitting one.

I mailed support but not heard a dickybird.

I'm assuming they are probably having a well earned break.

Rik

It will be dealt with on Tuesday, Mitch.

Had a mail back from our favourite IDnet poster.

Can't be moved forward but she doesn't think there will be a problem with the migration.

I have no doubt it'll be plain sailing from the IDNet end but alas I don't share her faith in our infamous monopoly, Ballsup Telecom.

We shall see, I have changed my shift so am here in the morning to give it a 'test drive'

Rik

They'll make you wait till six then, Mitch.
