IE8 Browser History Gone

Please, I don't want suggestions that I change to a different browser, I know how many of you guys slag off IE......my wife wouldn't know what to do if I put Firefox or Opera on our home PC, but...

Yesterday, I had a wonderful 15 security updates arrive, which I installed (Vista). Since then, IE8 doesn't seem to be storing any History, if you close it then restart. Anyone else noticed this?

It also looses stored cookies.

Sorry, Sparky, I just don't use IE, but Den does and will be along later.

Aaha!

Sorry guys, unless this helps someone else..............

It looks like one of the updates changed the general setting to delete browsing history on exit !  ???

Looked on my Win7 system and both 32bit and 64 bit versions of IE8 are not affected.
