Tina

I just thought I'd check what they are doing, as I haven't since I was live :)

Rik

A BT test would give us much more information, Tina.

You'll need your IDNet user name and phone number.

I don't understnd this at all

QuoteDownload speedachieved during the test was - 1970 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :13492 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 784 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 9.24:25.99:64.77 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.

Rik

Your speed and profile suggest the line has been unstable, you should be seeing a throughput of around 11Mbps. Let me check with support.

That is quite an achievement......... ???

Tina

good or bad achievement ?

Rik

Hi Tina

Your profile has already recovered, so you must have had a low-sync event which has pushed it down, but because the speed has come straight back up by a large amount, the profile has bounced rapidly back. If you could repeat the test in an hour or so, it would be handy.

Otherwise your line looks stable, but support wonder if you're turning the router off at night? If so, please don't. Routers are designed to be used 24/7, and the dynamic line management software for ADSL2+ gets a bit twitchy when it sees a drop.

Support say that the profile database lags the speed test slightly, so within seconds they can see two different profiles for the same line, ge if they run a test and get the customer to do so.

sorry I did turn it off last night as we had a thunderstorm and was scared of it getting fried  :slap:

Rik

That's OK, but don't do it daily. You also had a drop from 6:49-6:50 this morning. When you do power down for a thunderstorm, also unplug the router from the phone line.
