OK, thanks guys.  I knew I should have stuck with the BB.
Or just stick with current firmware  ;)
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

There are always leaked operating systems from RIM knocking around, and they usually work perfectly well.  :fingers:

I would not use them myself on an iPhone Jailbreaking can cause issues with Root passwords making your phone very hackable unless the default password was changed. In a week ans a bits time the price of a brand new 3GS will plummet anyway Simon, so you could always get a new one.

I would not try to downgrade from iOS4 to 3.1.3 because looking at how to do it from a Google search is somewhat involved. It is not just a reset when connected to itunes it's much more involved, it could do more harm than good.

There is no reason why the phone won't upgrade (via iTunes) on 21st June when the full version of iOS4 is released.

Simon

Will it automatically upgrade as soon as I connect to iTunes, and is it a case of everyone trying to get the upgrade at the same time, resulting in crashed servers, as with Firefox 3?

Rik

No, that's perfectly normal for iTunes.

Yes it will find any updates automatically, there is also a button to click to force updates.

The first day iOS4 is out you can guarantee the download will be slow, the servers don't normally crash  :fingers:

Simon

I'll hold you to that, Loz.  ;D
