Wow is this really football causing this? Internet pages take seconds before even starting to open at the minute. Amazing. My usual link to Hawaii is down to a couple Mbit as well.

It won't last.

It hasn't I'm afraid. I've been working day and night for the last week on a number of remote servers. It's been pretty appalling all week and today it's got so bad I had to take my laptop to another location and work from that. I do have some bandwidth (about a quarter of the norm) but there's a huge amount of lag on the net from this connection which is bad enough to cause server time-outs.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.

   Download  Speed
   1723 Kbps

0 Kbps   7150 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed

Download speedachieved during the test was - 1723 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7648 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps

That's what I'm getting at the moment, I'm normally around 6200 Kbps. It should be more than enough bandwidth to do what I need to do except when I'm uploading/downloading but the lag is the real killer.

You have my total sympathy on this.  I've been going through hell with my connection profile recently too.
