Don't they have to release Duke Nukem first? :D

The scenes in some FPS war games bear an uncanny resemblance to those of films.

Especially the early Call of Duty games

He's referring to DN forever which is now errr forever on hold.

Niall

I was referring to the new game that was listed as "it'll be released when it's done" for years, and I think got canned.

I think Mass Effect would be a good film.

I'm quite surprised with particle accelerators being in the news that no one has thought to turn Half-Life into a movie.

Not sure about which recent games would make decent movies but some of my old favourites could be  - Elite could make a good film, as could Wing Commander. Some have been done of course, I never played Hitman but the film was quite enjoyable and of course the Lord of the Rings trilogy were great books and great films before being made into a great MMORPG :)

zappaDPJ

Wing Commander has already been made into a movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0131646/

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it, it was pants. That's big granny pants with a reinforced gusset i.e. really naff

I don't know, I haven't seen too many in the last few years and the last film I saw at the cinema was Star Wars... the original trilogy  :eek4:

I haven't seen Max Payne yet or played the two original games but its on my list.

I saw doom and although the latter games such as Doom 3 were quite scary the film just had me in stitches it was that bad.

I think there were plans to make a film of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (there is supposed to be a trailer in one of the games) but it hit problems which is a shame as think it would make a good one.

The one and only game I play, World of Warcraft is being turned into a movie. Whether it should be is open to debate!

Max Payne is a great game, and to a lesser extent so is the second. The film however, is absolutely awful. They completely changed how it's supposed to feel, miscast the lead role and the love interest was played by Mila Kunis, and while I like her in other things (birthday suit, etc :D) she did not suit this role at all. I honestly don't think I could give it more than 2/10.

I would like to see Half Life as a film, also Deus Ex, (anyone remember that?)

Call of Duty was pretty much Band of Brothers, (I know, a series not a film)

Secret of Monkey Island   Now that would be great.  Mind you, Disney have kind of done similar with Pirates of the Caribbean
