As I'm getting increasingly fed up with having to trawl through an overflowing spam folder I am currently looking at a provider that uses this system as their spam defence.

Just wondered if anyone used a service with it and whether it as effective as they claim?

Simon

I've seen it mentioned before.  Not sure if it was here, though.

Mail Foundry  is a brilliant solution which is used by many hosting providers.

I have a dedicated email service with my own domain name so I can control settings as I want and there is no need to go through the pain of using and changing ISP provided mail addresses.

Have you thought about using Gmail, they have an excellent spam filter in place and you don't get adverts form them either.

I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Yes Alf but decided against them on the basis that they like to collect personal data without permission.

Yes, but nothing of any consequence.  It has not caused me any problems or extra mail etc over the past 5 years I have been with them.

But how much of a profile on you do they have Alf  ;) I just use Gmail for things I buy or people I have very shallow conversations, I don't trust Google at all.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Sorry to dig this one up but the spam got so bad I moved my mail to network solutions who offer this last night and so far so good, not a single item of spam has got through.

Oh I wouldn't say that. I used to check my gmail account about once every 2 months, and there are always hundreds of spam emails. I've NEVER even used it for anything either, so I dunno what they did when it first came out, but my god I've never seen so much spam.

Actually, scratch that. I've just logged in for the first time in an age and I've only got 80 spam emails in 7 months. They must have updated and improved spam filtering a hell of a lot. I might start using it now.

Although I think I just flagged youtube as spam. Oopsie :D

Google's coporate slogan is 'don't be evil'

Sounds sinister to me.

Still all looking good on the e-mail front.

Yep. I had a double take. Thought  I had been posting and forgetting. Or that I had split personalities. Then I realised the post was the 7th of July last year.  :slap:
Still spam free. :D
