a colleague who is an iPhone enthusiast and has recently purchased a 4 did comment that when she plugs the lead in directly from the mains rather than through a dock the phone does become quite hot while charging.

Mine gets warm, so does my beard trimmer though and thats ten years old, and my iPhone gets warm in the middle ish but not that much, it was more when it was new, nowhere near the port tbh.

My beard trimmer is almost 85 and still working 5 days a week in his good old-fashioned barbershop. They don't make 'em like that anymore - either barbers or their shops!

I just charged mine, it got slightly warm, and the adaptor was fine, the OS is buggy but patches will sort that, as for reception issues, I have none screen is great video is very good its a nice handset, but it does need to be treated with respect, gorilla glass or not, its still glass so get a case. but goggling the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S and the Nexus 1 (a desire without the nice stuff) they all have varying degrees of issues, no phone is perfect thanks to regulations about where aerials go (Palm of your hand mostly now)  I think you will be hard pushed to find one now, don't get one off ebay though, go through proper channels, people are ripping each other off for silly money....which gives me an idea

I doubt they will recall, some users are having issues some not, tbh the whole thing has become a really scary frenzy that is getting very out of hand, Apple need to say something, and the likes of Gizmodo need to stop printing anything people say for a quick story line, its all quite pathetic, and no side is handling it well. But the trolls and idiots on forums are making it worse, time to get a life for some I think.

The cost of a recall would be about 1.5billion dollars, if this had been a Nokia issue it would not be such a "big deal" its because its one of the most popular phones ever, and the sheer sales figures mean people will see issues on mass, for me the phone has worked fantastically for others not so, I have to say the fanbois make me sick, as does the Gizmodo bashing and rampant b*llshit posting.

Its been open season on Apple, Jobs needs replacing, I will say that, but this whole thing has become a mad frenzy of miss information, whipped up my the media, and the torrid apple forums, and by the complacency of Jobs, but also they have to work out what they will do, why some people have no issues and some do, could be down to spectrum used i guess 

What really winds me up is if you buy something and it does not work the way you want take it back, you don't hold on to it and cry like a lost child, its a phone I count myself as lucky, if I had lucked out I would have gone back to a 3GS but that had signal issues, infact similar ones to the complaints now, the HTC Desire does, the Nexus 1 does the Nokia 6600 slide does  but they don't sell 1.7 million handsets in a few days do they? Its all out of hand and I hope it gets laid to rest today, oh and as for Apple censoring forums, the T & C's  stipulate what you can and cannot post, nothing has changed, the post violated those terms, that simple, but once again Gizmodo loved to snap at the feet of Apple and cry conspiracy, I accept no big company gets their by being "nice" but Apple have come up with iconic design , partially driven by consumers wanting the "look"

This week has shown how damaging idiots with keyboards and Facebook and twitter accounts can be, and how damn twisted and paranoid people are when left to their own devices, I have never seen so many supposed experts in my life in forums ranting about a mobile phone, Christ its not a safety issue with a car that could kill you is it?

They never did though Simon, they market the same as anyone else they push the products main features and if no other phone/Pc has those at the time its played on, all companies do it, "Gillette the best a man can get" its the media who put it on a plinth and the reviews did say it was a great devices so its not like they disagree, but the circus means if you get more visitors to your site/paper sales by being a sheep and bashing then you are part of the club, it happens all the time, hey we were meant to be dead of swine flu by now! Oh that meant all those meds went out of sell by date last week, but Apple is a bigger story
