Could it be Fibre

I didn't know if to revive my Sky question thread with this or not but ended up deciding on a new thread, apologise if I shouldn't have done.

Anyway referencing the last few posts of this thread

I haven't personally been able to ask the workmen involved exactly what they were doing as they appear to have finished now without extending whatever it is to my village. I did look at the termination of some of their works in a neighbouring village and it looks very much like a fibre cabinet. I can only go on the photos I've seen on the web for this though so could be wrong.

Does anyone know, IF an exchange is fibre enabled does that fibre automatically get extended to all the street cabinets it serves or only a few of them ?

It's selective, Tony, not all cabinets may be enabled.

We won't know until BT tell us, it will be another number checker job I'm afraid.

The strange thing is though Rik as I mentioned before, we are not even scheduled to get ADSL2 until next year and nowhere can I even find a mention of Fibre let alone an exchange install date. Weird is what it is.  :dunno:
