QuoteThe private browsing modes on modern browsers leak information about where people have visited, suggests a study.

Available in many browsers, the private modes are not supposed to log information about sites visited.

However, the study found that in many cases the privacy mode was compromised by additions to the browser or extra security on websites.

Many extras that people add to browsers can "completely undermine" the anonymity of private browsing...... (more)

I just reformat and reinstall Windows after every session. ;)

Just clear private data after using the browser...... all these Firepox add ons cause nowt but trouble and prove the browser was not fit for purpose from the start .

Like Windows, you mean.  ;D

;D ;D trouble is they have brought out Win7 now and it is hard to find a reason to say bad things about that, no doubt the scum will always find ways to attack an OS but Win7 is very stable .

Win 7 even flags up known trojans etc. without an AV installed, my neighbour (being the numpty he is ) went online to review new AV's without anything running, he went on one of his "great" free sites ( ripped stuff) got hit and Windows flagged up the trojan and stopped it executing.

Rik, I've said once and I will say it again  ;D  Windows 7 is the best OS I have ever used and I've even sat down for very long sessions on a Mac just recently but I can't understand all the knocking of Windows  ;) I would not move onto one of other OSs as I want to be able to run all my software the way it was designed to be used.
For any one who has not used W7 give it a run you might be pleasantly surprised.  8-)

I thought that at first BUT having carried on the new structure is actually much more logical and easier to use. You just have to stop thinking in/of XP.

My boy was the same ,"Why change, don't want it " ask him now if he would change back. So many things "just work better".

Rik

Ah well, the next machine will force me to change.

I have a three year old,mid spec machine. Is it worth me upgrading to Win7?  Will all my hardware still work?

Big thing to check is drivers for things like printers.

Should be no problem, why not use this tool Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and get advice on hardware and software.

Printer drivers for XP and Vista can be used, jusr select the compatibility in "properties" . My HP kit has no full drivers in WIN7 , I just got the last available full pack and installed that, it works for me.
