I've taken the liberty of amending your first post with the instructions above. Thanks again for this great gadget  :karma:

For those who are interested, I've uploaded (with permission from IDNet) the IDNet Bandwidth Usage Monitor Android AppWidget to the Android Market. It's available to all touchscreen Android 1.6+ devices in the UK.

To many G&Ts, can't find the feed to set it up. Will try tomorrow, perhaps my brain will be in gear (doubtful)

The instructions for finding the feed are the same as those for the Windows 7 Gadget in post #1:

Log in to the IDNet.net customer portal: https://www.idnet.net/secure/
Down on the bottom of the list on the left should be a link for Updates Via RSS
Right click on one of the top two links and choose to "Copy Link Address" (or something similar - depends on your browser)

I have just tried it on my HTC Wildfire on Android 2.2 and it does not work for me.

Hi Colin,

Sorry to hear its not working for you - can you give me any specifics as to what isn't working? Are you about to select the widget from the widget selection menu? Does it prompt you for your Username and API Key? Does it fail to retrieve the data from the internet? 79% of the current installs are Android 2.2 but all have larger screen sizes then the Wildfire so that may be worth me looking at with the emulator.

Any further informtion would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards,

Phil 'tKe' Davies

Same here, same phone and opp system.
It loads OK & all seems fine, but when I try to run it the message " Not Executable" comes up :dunno:

I've just tried it on a friends Wildfire S (not quite the same, I know, but it has the same screen size). It seems to run fine.

It's not an application you "run" but a widget you add to your home screen. You should find it in the listings under "Personalize -> Widget" if you're still using HTC Sense.

I tried again and I have got it working. The problem was me because after it downloaded and installed I was looking for it under the APPS, I did not realise until I saw your comment above that it was a widget. I am still trying to get used to this smartphone as it is my first and I keep finding new things all the time on it.

Thanks

Colin

Long shot but does anyone know if the source code is available for the Android widget?

Hi All,

Has the new website borked this wonderful gadget? I have it on both my PC's (Laptop & Desktop) and my Android phone and none of them seem to be working since the website was updated.

I use OS X and the dashboard widget is not working either
