Upgrade soon - choosing a phone!

I'm pretty much settled on the HTC desire - any reasons not to get it? Any reasons to look at a different phone?

There's a few here who would recommend it.    Just don't get one from Vodafone.

Sam, if you order a Desire, expect to wait a good few weeks, there are very few Desires available, as the network providers can't get them quick enough. The screens have now been replaced with Super LCD's so they can be seen in sunlight easier (read, Samsung couldn't suppiy enough). The Samsung Galaxy S is another Android phone to consider with similar features to the Desire.

I was looking at getting one off a dealer rather than the actual network (mobiles.co.uk has some good deals)

Would I have to look for a certain date of manuf for a better screen?

It just says 'later this summer' However, one of the guys at work got one 2 weeks ago.
