Reminder software for Windows

I'm looking for a small app that will issue reminders to undertake tasks, but which is flexible enough to accommodate annually, monthly, weekly, every X weeks/days/months/years, daily, a specific day in any month, eg first Tuesday, second Wednesday etc.

Everything I've found so far can perform a limited range of these functions, but does not have the flexibility to handle the odd intervals.

Has anyone come across anything remotely suitable please?

I was about to suggest outlook. I have to use it in work. Can't say I like it much, mainly because it reminds me of my job that I hate, but hey ho

Set the appointment to every 156 weeks. I have no idea if that will work by the way.

Sadly, it only accepts 2 digits for the week.

I doubt if anyone proggie will cover all possible sequences.

With Windows 7, the zCalendar Gadget goes forward at least 5 years and the Thunderbird Email Addon Lightning doesn't seem to have a cut off point

The 'Every x years' doesn't appear in my Outlook 2003, Ray.  I wonder which version Rik is using, and whether the option only appears in later incarnations of Outlook?

Other than that, Rik, I think it will do all that you want.

Forgot when I posted my first reply, Rik, I'm using a trial of 2010 at the moment, I've just checked 2007 and it looks like this is a new feature introduced in the 2010 version.

I use a program called Advanced Desktop Calendar (ADC). I'm not sure it will give you all the facilities you need but might be worth a look.

Forget my last modification, it is now called 'Active' Desktop Calendar.
