Looks like a PPP or stale session problem, Brian. Is there no error log in the router? Can you ping or tracert the sites at the time.

Any reason for all the admin login failures? Have you tried the router at the test socket, assuming you hve one?

Netgears seem to prefer to talk to IE, only ever attempt a firmware update that way. Do the page losses occur in IE too? Can you ping the sites at the time?

Just did a firmware upgrade. I have a Netgear DGND3300V2.
Can't understand the Administrator login failure bit!!!
Administrator admin login successful -
Administrator login failure -
Administrator admin login successful
Done this with my old Netgear GT!

Rik

Do you enter the login manually each time? Can you ping the sites when they won't load?

I have the same router, the firmware can be upgraded wirelessly now Rik, the new Netgears are set to work with Firefox without an issue as well, and check for their own firmware updates on log in. It may be worth resetting the router by pressing the reset button in the back for 30 seconds and seeing if that helps, after making sure you have your log in info.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

I also have the same router with the latest firmware and it works with fine with Firefox, but every time I log into the router I also do get the Administrator login failure and then the Administrator admin login successful, but without any loss of connection.

Not having that issue here, maybe reinstall the firmware and reset the router, its generally worth resetting after an update anyway.

Just sent a ticket to Netgear Re/Administrator login failure to see what they say!.
Will not hold my breath though, Netgear support isn't the best.

When you log in does it say N300 or Rangemax adsl2+ router? When I first upgraded it still said Rangemax, so I uploaded the firmware again and now it says N300, as it should. I have tried to replicate the sign in issue but with no luck, mine works as it should  :dunno:

Prob best to press and hold the reset switch until power flashes red, this will have erased firewall rules, your password and any specific configs but it'll restore your access.

Unfortunately as you say, Netgear routers are good but their support is hopeless and if you cant get into the admin config pages they cant do much anyway as you cant telnet into Netgear firmware.

I did reset it after installing the update as advised quite some time ago, but as it causes me no other problems whatsoever, I will leave well enough alone, especially as my internet connection is superb.

I've had similar issues with random pages being blocked which the ISP I used at the time could not replicate even if they logged onto their network using my ADSL profile.

Out of desparation I tried a reset as it was blocking sites such as my bank and sites I needed to log in to in order to pay bills.

Yes it says N300 or Rangemax adsl2+ router..
Had a reply from Netgear giving the usual instructions.
Still didn't work. Funny thing though it did the same with a Netgear DG834Gv5.
Could it be Windows 7 I wonder!

From Netgear support.

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer).
2. Click on tools on the top and go Internet options.
3. On the "General" tab click on delete cookies and delete all the cookies, then click on delete files and delete all the temporary Internet files.
4. Click on "Connections" tab on the top.
5. Delete all the dial up connections on the list.
6. The option "Never Dial A Connection" should be grayed out, apply.
7. Click on the button for "LAN SETUP" and make sure that nothing is checked there.
8. Click on Ok and click on "Advanced tab on the top".
9. Click on the button says "Restore Defaults or restore advanced settings".
10. Click on apply and Ok
11. Click on 'file' at the top and make sure 'work offline is unchecked' and close the Internet explorer.
