I've had an Android phone for a while now and removed the Nokia software from my PC some time back. Wife is about to change from a Nokia phone to an Android one and needs to copy her contacts from one to the other - new phone will be a Sony, is there a way to take the contacts from the old phone and put them onto the new one without me having to re-install the Nokia software - which may not be a help anyway of course! Both phones and my PC are all Bluetooth compatible so I can Bluetooth them to the PC and then to the new phone but is there any suitable (Free) software that anybody has used? If not I'll google it but I would rather use something that somebody here has used :)

Sorry, should have mentioned - changing network from 3 to Orange as well as changing phone

Not really a way you can do it without the software as far as I know.

Will the Nokia sync with Outlook?  If so, you could transfer the contacts to Outlook, then sync Outlook with the new phone.

I've not used it myself but this http://users.tpg.com.au/johnd/nokia-backup.html looks like it might be worth a look.
It's a Java app which runs on the Nokia phone and produces a vCard backup file ( on the phone ). You can then copy that file
to the Android phone and import it, either with this http://www.waxworlds.org/edam/software/android/import-contacts or since its a new phone more likely with the normal Android import/export.

Hmmm. I spot a gap in the market. I've often found this the hardest part about swapping phones. Please post back if you manage to do it!
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

I suspect it's done to encourage brand loyalty.

When I got my Android, as I was going through the setup it offered to connect to my old phone and bluetooth all contact information across. it even suggested how to enable bluetooth on my old phone lol....

Had a similar problem when switching from Virgin to O2.

I had intended to get my 6230i unlocked from Virgin, copy the contacts from the SIM into its memory, swap the SIM for the O2 one and then copy them back but thanks to Virgin giving me the wrong unlock code the 6230i remained locked to them.

Thanks for all the suggestions but having now looked at her exisintg phone it turns out that she only has 71 contacts on it and some of then are duplicates anyway! I think I'll just bluetooth over the ones she wants to keep, if the new phone offers to help with that as part of the setup process then even better :)
