QuoteBT Planned Maintenance - 21CN (ADSL2 )

BT have advised us of planned maintenance that will affect customers country-wide on most ISPs.

This work is required so that BT can carry out hardware upgrades.

BT advise that some customers may have outages up to 4 hours and should only affect BT-based Home and Office services on the 21CN network.

Start Time: 12:00am, 9th September 2010
End Time: 7:00am, 9th September 2010

Be even more joy if 21CN managed to reach this part of the forest.....

Steve

To be honest for me I think I'm better off without it in it's current state

My concern is that a game I preordered through steam comes out the day after. I hope it's all done, issue free by then!

Internet in the UK is shockingly bad.  I remember a few years ago I used to taunt my Australian friend for only having 56k modem while I cruised along at 1mb.  Now a few short years later I am still on my 1mb and he is on 16mb.  Stupid karma!!!

Oh, but as he is on an "island" miles away from any other continent, everything has a ping of over 600ms! So, unless it's an Australian website (and face it, who knows of any of those ;) ) he will take ages to load up a page.  ;D
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Everyone, Baz. The advice to turn the router off is to avoid a stale session in the morning, which will take half an hour to clear if it happens.

Hmm. Like I said before, I managed to keep some connections up with the last down time. However, Steam logged off during the service interruption.  :eyebrow:

I'm tempted to see what happens - last time I suffered no disruption. OTOH, I don't want to be messing around with a stale session in the morning.
