I am finding a whole bunch of websites are not working. Example:

Pinging www.tomatoesareevil.com [81.88.57.71] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 81.88.57.71:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Is there still "upgrade" work going on?

Rik

No, and it's working fine for me. What happens when you do a tracert to the site?

Fine for me on IDNet DNS and OpenDNS.

They're working again now  >:(

The last couple of days have felt like I'm back on Plusnet  :bawl:

Bill

I've just had ten minutes when websites wouldn't work, but seems OK now :dunno:

Sounds like work is still under way somewhere, probably about time for LINX to play up >:D

It was weird... most (but not all) websites wouldn't load, and my RSS feeds failed.

Everything else was still working :dunno:

Anything specific, Bill?

I've checked with support and they're not seeing any issues today, so if anyone does have problems, could they run both a traceroute and path ping to the sites.

The tbb sites weren't working (except the BQM), most IDNet ones seemed OK (except webmail), they're the only ones I can remember.

Restarting the browser didn't help so I rebooted the iMac (in case it was my end), by the time it was back up everything was working again!

Odd, Bill, because I was on TB at the time.  :dunno:

In the last few weeks I've had the odd occasion on the iMac where ping times have been high, I don't know the cause but my only cure has been a reboot.

Haven't seen that... occasionally I find that a frequently used site (eg the tbb forums or this one) goes VERY sluggish, but I'm pretty sure that's an Opera problem- closing the tab and opening a new one on the same url cures it.

This forum going sluggish is often the server, Bill, we share it with 2 or 3 others.

Bill

I mean really sluggish... like over a minute to load :eek4:

And not intermittently- once it goes that way, it stays like it.

If the server is slow, try browsing to Orange bikes, if that is slow too, then it's the server.

OB often run processes which hog the server, Bill. The other time you'll see a slowdown is when the daily backup kicks in. The very long hang can often be cured by hitting stop then refresh (or link).

Cheers, I'll give that a try next time.

I suppose I got so used to it happening on tbb that I just used the same cure ;D

One backup runs at 6am everyday. When it starts, I get a 500 error trying to access the forum, normally it's OK within a couple of minutes.

If I'm online at 6am it was a very late night ;D
