Hi all

does the online customer usage monitor reflect figures instantly or does it take a while to update like 24 hours?

are theyre any XP compat apps that fetch IDnet stats to desktop?

we used BitMeter to record my dads usage before midnight (he's on 10/30 package) and he used about 8.5Gb so we just want to make sure he doesnt go over his 10Gb allowance

thanks

Rik

The easiest thing for XP, Snadge, is to sign up to the RSS feed from the customer portal. IDNet will email him if he's likely to go over, but the RSS feed will give him actual and projected usage each day. Updates occur when BT radius servers send the data. That's at least once a day and can be hourly.

thanks again Rik

will have a look at it -

just out of interest, do you know of any usage apps that get near enough same recorded usage as IDnet cos I know lots of them never get it right

cheers

Most measure LAN traffic as well as WAN, so they are never really accurate. One of our members has written a widget for Win 7, but I've not seen anything really good for XP. What email client does he use?

Shame he doesn't use Outlook, there's an add-on for that which works well. :(

tbbmeter might be worth a look.

I don't know too much about it 'cos there's no Mac version yet ( :bawl: ) but it'll work on XP and the latest version can separate WAN and LAN traffic. It's still being developed to some extent, but you have to register for the beta.
