Zen focuses on quality fibre amid BT price concerns

Internet service provider Zen has launched a 40Mbits/sec fibre service, but admits that it cannot compete with BT on price if it is to maintain its high standards of service.

The company has announced a range of fibre packages, starting at £35.25 (including VAT) for a Fibre Active service with a monthly download cap of 50GB, plus a one-time activation fee of £75.

BT recently announced an aggressive pricing strategy for its Infinity fibre products, including free fibre upgrades for anyone signing up for a broadband/phone call bundle - meaning consumers could enjoy fibre broadband for just £18 a month, with free installation.

I was shocked to see these prices and had put myself forward to be an FTTP triallist but am having second thoughts as I dread to think what they might charge for Fibre To The Premises.
