Google reveals Android revenue

Google has revealed it expects to make $1 billion in revenue from mobile projects annually.

Investors had feared that Google, seeking new sources of growth, was spending recklessly on initiatives such as its Android mobile software, acquisitions, renewable energy projects and even automated cars, with uncertain returns.

In July, Google's second-quarter earnings fell short of expectations, marking the first time in two years that the company had missed profit estimates.

Personally I love Google as a company. Really something to get the competition going and extremely useful.

Yeh yeh they have been known to collect and use data. But who doesn't nowadays? Probably quite a lot going on without us knowing. Loving android and chrome :)

Chrome seems like Safari, great for using basic pages but doesn't work with scripts etc.

I am of the opinion Chrome was created as little more than a data mining tool as chances are tells Google about every site you visit.

I know firefox does that as standard too which is why I switched off the safe browsing check.

Out of the two browsers I'd rather use Safari.

I believe Chrome is entirely open source and so is audited by a lot of people to check if it were sending data back.
