Hey guys

Just wondering, my router syncs at full 8128kbps through the test socket, but at 6800 with the faceplate on. Why would this be happening? I'm assuming it can't be as a result of poor internal wiring as the router goes through the master socket. All devices have microfilters (and we do exceed our REN rating, I think) but one of them doesn't, as it's a Sky box that only calls out once a month - could that be it?

Thanks :)

All your internal wiring goes back to the master and can easily pick up noise from appliances around the house especially if you have the ring wire connected - with microfilters it is not needed or split pairs or "alarm" cable.

Also, it might be worth trying it with the Skybox double filtered.

I'm desperately trying to figure out why kamikaze pilots wore helmets.

Everything you need to know is found in Rik's FAQ on dealing with  Internal Wiring Problems

An ADSL filter faceplate is highly recommended if the router is usually plugged into the main BT socket

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

1) duff face plate is possible

2) try without Sky connected to see if it changes the synch.

3) The Sky box needs to be filtered come what may. ;)
