Tomorrow is my live date for ADSL2+. Just had a thought, do I need to power the router off when the changeover happens? Is there a time of day when it could take place or is more luck than judgement? In other words if I get home from work tomorrow and the regrade hasn't happened, should I just wait until the following day before contacting support because it could still happen late evening? Oh God, have I done the right thing!!! I'm sure it'll go fine, what with BT's track record and all. :fingers:

Thanks,
Steve

Anytime from the small hours to 6pm, Steve. I honestly can't remember if I powered down or it just happened.

Thanks, Rik, I'll leave well alone and see what happens.

When I upgraded, my router simply auto-connected when the connection was switched. I'd imagine there will be a little downtime as the new connection is made so if you are around and lose sync it's probably best to give it a while before taking any action. I hope it goes well for you :)

Thanks Zap. Can't stop thinking I should have been happy with my current solid connection. Ah well, what's done's done.

My router just reconnected automatically too. I'm pretty sure you start a new 10 day training period, you you might see some instability during that period. After that, hopefully everything will be rock solid.

No problem with the regrade afterall, router stats below.

ADSL Link   Downstream   Upstream
Connection Speed   22212 kbps   888 kbps
Line Attenuation   9.5 db   4.5 db
Noise Margin   1.8 db   13.5 db

The only disappointment is my download speeds. Bt speedtest gave me a profile of 7150kbps :(
Download speed 7113kbps Upload speed 729kbps

Will time improve things, or do I have to dig deeper?

As your probably aware the IP profile is restricting your download speed but if you stay in sync it should move toward your downstream sync fairly soon. The downstream margin is low so you may resync overnight at a lower rate. You've started a new training period my advice is to leave things well alone.

Just ran a BT speedtest...............Speed achieved Down 20101kbps & Up 959kbps...........with a profile of 19000kbps!
Now then, how do I squeeze a bit more out of my connection? Only kidding, I'm a VERY happy bunny! :gigglerabbit:
