Same here, but it wasn;t 20 minutes ago. Nothing caught my eye on tbb and a quick Google was of no help either.
Its happened before I have found messages about it, I did see a message on of all places yahoo answers which said 'some' IPS's seem to be having issues with it  :dunno:

Working OK with Chrome but not with Opera at the moment.

Rik

Curiously, I Googled this and, though not current, there was a recommendation to use Chrome. Conspiracy?

blogspot.com is also having the same issues.

psp83

Oh and you might find something on here : http://www.google.com/support/forum?hl=en

I've not looked myself though.

Rik

Nothing obvious there, Paul.

I'm so glad I'm not alone! I've been trying to edit videos since yesterday and Youtube is unbearably slow. I first thought it was a browser issue (Safari) and noticed there was an update, but it didn't fix the problem with stylesheets and javascript errors. So I thought it was my OS (OS X 10.6) so I tried it in Windows 7 and I've still got the same errors.

I thought I'd come here as a last resort to see if it's an IDNet issue, but then a friend on Twitter who's ISP is Virgin has been having the exact same problem.

Weird!

Hi Matt

It looks very much like a server error, but Google are being very reticent about it. Any chance you could do a tracert and post the results back here. If you could get your friend to do one, so much the better. :)

Welcome to the forum, where we can find a question to answer every question. ;D :welc: :karma:

Hi Rik,

It's nice and fast getting to youtube.com, but when I try to edit a video of mine I encounter the error and epic slowdown. Sometimes I struggle getting to youtube.com, sometimes I struggle getting to anyone's video. It's driving me bonkers!

Rik

Thanks, Matt. Curiously, we've now looked at 4 tracerts, and they start to vary from hop6 onwards, though that doesn't seem to tally with the working/non-working status. :dunno:

I would think it shows that they are going to different server farms :dunno:

I think so, but does that mean that one group are failing. The only way to track this, I think, is to tracert when it's working and when it's not and see if there's any commonality established that way.

My youtube is broken as well.  Noticed it 2 nights ago.  In IE9 it only loads the <HEAD> section of the html document.  In FF it loads the entire html document but not the stylesheets.  The youtube app on the ipad/phone/touch seems to work better but even here some videos don't load.

pctech

It looks like Gooigle is changing its routing as youtube traffic used to go through LINX (on Zen at least) but now it is going throough Lonap as both my own tracert and those on IDNet show.

http://www.lonap.net/members.shtml shows the member is Google Ireland and has a 10 Gig connection in.

traffic to google.co.uk or .com still seems to be going via LINX

This link https://www.linx.net/pubtools/member-techlist.html shows the LINX members, click port type to show the connection capacity, this shows that Google has 4 !0 gig ports on LINX

Simon_idnet

Google have recently joined Lonap and the peering model there is more attractive to send them traffic over Lonap rather than Linx. That though is an aside as this issue appears to be DNS related where Google are advertising a group of addresses, some good, some bad which is why consecutive connections show good then bad results (as connections round-robin). I'm afraid there's not much we can do about this until Google fix either their broken server farm or the DNS that points users to it.
