iPhone 4 wither tomorrow or Tuesday! I've decided to upgrade and move to vodafone in hope of a better 3G connection when I'm on the train to and from work. Got £120 cashback through quidco so that has helped too!

I'm getting it delived to the vodafone store so I'm hoping they will get it in tomorrow.

I assume I just need to plug it in the iTunes and do a restore from backup to get all my apps and data on it?

I'd be interested on the answer to that question, but I would have thought so, Lance.  I'm still considering the upgrade myself, but as I'd be paying for the device outright, I don't really think it's worthwhile.

I set mine up as a new phone Lance, then transferred the apps and contacts over from my macs address book, just to make sure no glitches came with me, but it should be ok now the 3GS is on ios 4 anyway.

When I changed from a 3GS to iPhone 4 it was an easy process, first connect and back up your old phone. Then when you connect your new phone it will ask you if you want it set up like your old one.

It was an easy process, all your text messages, apps with preferences etc are transferred over.

I'd we worried about a withered phone though, Lance.

It is the latest model Rik, or maybe I've just got touch of Simon's trouble!  ;D

Does anyone know if a jailbroken iPhone would transfer modified files to a new model, without first jailbreaking the new iPhone?  All I've done with mine is replace some of the alert tone files, and changed the colour of the text bubbles in the SMS app.    Would those files, which are still named as per the default files, be 'reset' to the originals?

Finally my phone has arrived today! Credit control decided to take issue with me already having a vodafone account (nicky's phone is in my name) and wouldn't put the order through until Wednesday, only for Vodafone to run out of stock.

Now I'm just waiting for my number to port across but certainly the first impressions are its a fantastic phone. The screen quality is absolutely amazing when comparing the 4 and 3gS side by side.

Full report awaited, Lance. :)
Dont drop it! Apple did not put gorilla glass on the back, saying that with the bumper on and a hard leather pouch I have it pretty well protected it, you can get metal replacement backs now, its literally two screws and the back slides off it would appear which means you could change your own battery. I think I'll leave mine well alone.
