Always wondered about that myself as they've said it for years.

I suspect it costs them well over that to run the network per day as looking at some of the installations near me I bet they aren't cheap to run as the cabinets have massive air con units on the side.

O2 has always worked for me even though phone seems to prefer 2G round here, service has always been good when I've contacted them and the price is right so can't complain really.

The only reason I'm moving from O2 to Vodafone is I should get a better 3G signal for my daily commute. I have to agree that the customer service when I contacted them was great and even cancelling the contract was nice and easy.

PACing. O2 sent in in a text within a few hours. Much better than when I PACed to O2 from Vodafone as vodafone insist on sending it by post.

Depends how close their masts are to the line Lance but to be honest I've not heard many good things about Vodafone customer service wise at least.

I've always got on OK with them, Mitch, but as that's a secondary phone, I don't have that much contact. Orange CS is good, if you have time on your hands, but I find four people will give me four different answers, which isn't the most helpful thing.

Ill be PACing to Vodafone as well when my contract runs out next month or is it January? O2 just do not have decent 3G coverage around here  :(

By their own admission they only cover 84% of population for 3G and they only did that when threatened with a licence breach fine.

I reckon they still make a healthy profit from voice and text so why worry about 3G.

Times are changing though Mitch and the Network needs to keep up, O2 are slacking badly, Its a shame I'll be leaving as they have always been so good, no issues to speak of for years

The thought of moving to Voda appeals to me purely because they are a British company but some of the stuff I've read about how they treat their customers has put me well and truly off.

I have access to a decent connection at home and at least a 50 Meg connection at work so don't really have a need for mobile data.

I cant always sit at the PC Mitch I do use wifi but when I go out I like to be able to use mobile data, Vodafone has a better signal for actually just doing the phone part around here but compared with O2 they are so much more expensive  :(
