Unfortunately this morning I woke to super slow speeds. Google took ten seconds to load and the bt speedtester timed out lol. So did speedtester.net one tester worked and said I have 0.6mbps download lol. Support have suggested its my end. So I'll be turning the router back on later after work. If no improvement ill try reinstall dgteam firmware on the dgn2000 and then maybe switch back to the 2700. Maybe my netgear has gone faulty!

Rik

Things are fine here, Sam. Did support give a reason for their belief?

Lance

We are running slow at work today on and off, not an IDNet connection.

just powered back on and it seems back to normal.

maybe local congestion.

maybe the problem will come back once the router has been on a bit...

either way i think ill be best going back to standard netgear firmware in case it totally goes fubar

Technical Ben

Could it be windows decided to update/virus scan/defrag/go walkabouts just for that one session?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Well BT speedtester still not working.

Speedtest.net takes ages and well look at the results....

Time to try a different router ? ??? ??? ???

Its almost certainly the router if when tracert-ing anywhere, the first hop takes the longest even when its local....well ping timing is low, just takes 5-10 seconds to get past it :S

and over wifi

Its the router lan ports or the new cat6 cable I got.

Switching over to my 2700 will confirm which it is..

Glenn

Sam, did you reflash it back to the standard firmware?

Yes its back to the standard firmware now. I'll be back home tonight, ill try a restore to default and redo my settings. If its still slow i'll get the 2700 back out. If that fixes it then its the router.

Honestly, I don't want another 2000 as the internet is full of people having issues with overheating killing their lan ports. I got it off play.com not too long ago and its also under netgear warranty. Who shall I go to and what can I say/do to either get a refund/credit/upgrade to a unit which doesn't have the same issues!

The way I see it is that ill get another 2000, it will die out of warranty and im screwed over by a unit not fit for purpose  :rant2:

Glenn

Your contract is with Play, so go through them first.

Good luck, though.  In my experience, Play are not the easiest to communicate with.  :(

I have noticed that within 5 mins of trying lol...

Seems I cant directly apply to send an item back after a week or so.

Ill have to try my luck over the phone or by email.

mrapoc

Now on the 2700...

Says it all
