If a line has got a lot of noise on the voice side causing no internet connection, but when a call is made the internet comes up, that often indicates a small break in the line somewhere doesn't it (with the extra current enabling a connection to be made)?

All equipment has been replaced (filters, phones, cables and router) so its going to be a BT voice engineer being called - thankfully not on my line!

More likely to be a bad joint, Lance. A break would result in slow internet but no voice.

That's what's happening to my sisters line. Phone rings and the net drops. Not sure if it comes back when they phone someone though.

That sounds a bit different, as in this case the internet only comes up when a call is made, otherwise its constantly down.
