Local Issue?

Two weeks ago my IP Profile dropped from 38,718kbps to 25,859kbps and has remained there ever since.

I've also noticed quite a lot of packetloss over that period -

I've just been upstairs to see my neighbour who is also on FTTC (Albeit BT Infinity) and his IP Profile has also dropped to the same as me.

Would the increase in packetloss and the fact my neighbours IP Profile has also been slashed suggest there's a local issue at play?

Local or national, Griff. BT have, reportedly, delayed further rollouts because the current backhaul can't cope with existing customers.

I'm not seeing that level of packet loss but my profile is also tumbling, I lost around 5,000 kbp/s recently. I also find throughput to be highly variable depending on the time of day.

Makes you wonder why BT didn't invest in a bigger and more efficient backhaul before implementing Infinity?  Perhaps they were more intereted in paying out bonuses and high share returns (forgotton the name :) ) to their investors.  Another big company who put their investors before their customers.
