OK, I think it's me. I put Mandriva 2010.2 on a spare hard drive this morning and just swapped back to the one with Mint on it, and it's fine.
I'll try downloading the generic version instead of the distro included version. It does sometimes break with updates, and it was updated earlier.

Ho Hum!

Yeah, soon as I saw it was ok in chromium I thought it was a FF issue, strange coincidence though!  ::)

I've noticed that the forum remedial work seems to have given some members a new lease of life.

Just got back and swapped to the Mandriva disc, downloaded FF from Mozilla and it works properly, no smileys or avatars flashing off and on. Maybe it's just me but I find more often than not, FF updates break the program. Recently I had an update that refused to let me copy and paste. It doesn't seem to matter if it's distribution specific or the generic .bz2 version.

BLOODY UPDATES!  :rant2:

We've been working on some fixes too, Ted, so it could be either.

Definately FF, Rik. Still bad on the distro version.

Actually, I did. The smileys are all good, but the avatars are still bad!  :shake:   ;D
