I haven't heard of them myself, but there are 100's if not 1000's of webhosts out there.

That is an expensive way to get a website running.  Take a look at 1+1.co.uk  they offer a free website builder with their email servers and webhosting.

What is the site for and how complicated is it going to be?

David

The site is just for photography really and not selling anything more of a storage and contact point....I had 1+1.co.uk for an email address and they proved to be naughty to say the least but thanks to a certain Mod here  I was saved money and hassle so I would not use them. This price under £100 covers everything so that is considered expensive ...
I have to work on the easy to set up as well ....I have got better at this lets put it that way  ;) ;)

Why not just use the IDNet photo gallery, David?

£99 seems quite expensive. I have used http://www.streamline.net/ in the past. Set up a site for my daughter. Cheap enough, never had a problem in 2 years.
They do a 3 month free trial as well. See if you like it before commiting yourself.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I wouldn't touch it to be honest.

It's lacking some fundamental details such as the actual web hosting (something slightly important for a website!). For example what platform is the hosting on? Do you have access to Cpanel? How much web space do you actually get? What are the bandwidth limits? How many ftp accounts does it have? How many sub-domains can you have? Now many SQL databses can you have?

And so on..

There are free WordPress sites and I thought IDNet gave you a WordPress blog with a BB package.

Rik

They do, plus photo album & webspace.

you can adjust how much space is allocated to Photo\ web\ blog, so you can set it all to photo gallery if you want.

You'll get your link from the gallery administration when you set up an album, David.

I think if the website they are using as a sales platform there is an example of their wares you are well advised to stay clear, what a diabolical mess that is.

David

:thnks: All have steered away the link  from Ted is being looked at  :thumb:

Found www.webs.com to be excellent. Free and offers all that the average punter requires, plenty of options and simple to use as well!.  ;D

Nothing to stop you registering your own domain and pointing it at your IDNET account using a framed forward.
