I know, but centralised tweaking is so much easier.

Anyone know if MS has released a Tweak UI applet for Win 7 yet.

Have it installed on my XP system.

Steve

I think the answer is no. However there is something called the Ultimate Windows Tweaker v2.1 which is compatible with v7.

No, though the laptop doesn't get a lot of use. It's just that, by the time I'd finished with it, I'd managed to make 7 look and feel like XP. ;D

Yes, and didn't we all try to make XP look and feel like 98SE?  ;D

Rik

True, so really I'm using a souped up version of 98. ;D

Mine still does. The first thing I did with XP (after turning Automatic Updates off) was set the "classic" interface.

Rik

Same here, and I've done it to 7 too.

Oh good. There's hope yet. I had wondered if W7 could be made to look like 98SE.

And proud of it. ;D A lot of my motivation, in going Classic, is to remove colour from the desktop as much as possible. It can have a massive impact on colour judgement when doing photographic work. Blacks, greys and whites are my ideal. In the same way, I would only have white or grey walls, and I use 6500K lighting to preserve colour integrity.

Is it free?

I've not started messing with Win7 yet. I'll probably end up with windows 9 before I get too annoyed at this little box.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Rik

It is, though you can donate, Ben.

Is this as good as nlite was with XP/Vista?

DorsetBoy

How does adding 4 more applications make your OS "Lite" ?

Technical Ben

Huh? AFAIK they are installed just to configure the system. Then you can remove them?

As I see it from looking at the website, it's not for tweaking a live windows installation it's for making a customised installation DVD and slip streaming drivers, updates etc into the install DVD, a bit like you could do with Nlite in Windows XP.
