Amazing how we have a similar approach. I customised my Windows XP colour scheme so the desktop is mid grey, the gradient in the window title bar is black to grey for foreground window and dark grey to light grey for background. All my menus are grey and my highlight colour is black! In my computer room, the walls and ceiling are white, the curtains and floor are grey. The table is white.

Where did you find 6500K lighting? Can you get those in dimmable bulbs? I am using dimmable halogens but 6500K would be great.
