Problem migrating over

I have been a happy customer of idnet for a few months now and told one of my friends to migrate over to idnet as he was having problems with tiscali, basically he had been unable to connect with them for a couple of weeks and they were doing nothing to help.

He requested his MAC code from tiscali which they gave him and he signed up with idnet, only he hasn't been able to log on with idnet either and they are now telling him a couple of months down the line that they cannot connect him, (not sure of the reason why).

There is still a DSL connection as the router shows a 2meg connection. But niether logon details for idnet or tiscali work. Numerous calls to tiscali keep telling him that he is not connected with them anymore, and idnet don't seem to be able to help anymore.

Can anyone offer some advice off the best way to move forward? As he would like to get back on the net soon.

Hi Spiral - welcome !
From myself and others experience of the CS received from IDNet I have to say I'm surprised they have been unable to resolve your friends issue. Short of having your wires cut somewhere there's not much I haven't heard IDNet CS taking on and resolving.

Miriam & Simon I know lurk in here on occasions...I'd recommend your friend go back to them and once all diagnostic avenues open to IDNet are exhausted then it's down to BT to resolve most likely ?

Ah it seems they are still waiting for BT to sort something out, I thought BT were usually quite quick at sorting problems out.

Hi Spiral

Please could you email me your friend's name so that I can check the case notes?

simon <at> idnet . net

Thanks
Simon

Trust me, any delays in sorting his line out will definitely be down to BT not Idnet. Good luck hope it gets sorted soon.  :D

Erm no, my experience and my brothers of BT were that they came round within a few days and everything was sorted quickly.

But ok this is not the case any more.

Well good to hear someone was getting good CS from 'em. Sorry...my initial response was rather fatuous ! Let us know how it all pans out either way though ?

My mate cancelled before letting things get sorted. But now he is in a place of nowhere as tiscali still have a marker on his line. Oh well

Simon phoned to clarify the situation within five minutes of me emailing him. Great customer service as usual.  :)
