Im on Super max package with IDNet but recently my line has been acting very strange.

It drops connection regularly, but the thing is it has been fine for months until recently.

My upload speed is severely crippled down from the 800kb ish its usually at to around 600 :( I am going to use a microfilter later on to see if my BT filter faceplate has been damaged.

Just seems odd that it has started going wrong at the same time a house mate left under bad terms.

Hi VaderDSL

From what you describe, it would seem that you are experiencing frequent noise spikes on the line which in turn cause you to lose sync. More than 10 re-syncs within an hour appear to trigger BT's equipment into thinking there is a fault on the line and reduce your profile accordingly. It is because of your reduced profile that your speed is lower.

If you could post some stats such as your sync rate and noise margin, as well as the result of a BT speed test, this may help us diagnose the problem a little better. If you need any further help, just give me a shout :)

Cheers lance :) excellent help I'll have a play round later on, it goes in bouts as it were it has been fine now for a couple of hours, whereas through an hour period there were frequent disconnects :)

I'll do some more testing and report back :)
