I've put the wrong kind of link to the chart in post #1 - it's showing a dynamic read out. How can I edit it?

Yes but I have changed all the router passwords just in case.

When I (briefly) used a 2700 istr it had to be dissuaded from downloading updates from BT, any chance it could be connected with that? Got itself in a loop somehow?

Does the download figure I obtained from support fit with your usage pattern, Rich?

If you mean the 3.4gb then I think so but I have no way of confirming it - I started a download but it said it was going to take 2 weeks to come in so I killed it. I guess the ETA must have been way off. :-\

It seemed to stop around midnight last night (with a break earlier in the morning).

Here's yesterday..

and here's today (didn't start using the net until about 6 this evening)...

THe green bit is now up to 50 (compared to my usual 40) but my connection feels better now. There sure is a lot of red compared to what I see of other peoples charts.  :(

No one was home, so nothing. My ps3 was on standby/off so I don't know if it chats to the net in that state.

I think you need to talk to support, Rich.

Tell them you're seeing increased latency and packet loss, you can also refer them to this thread.
