Yep, it just got me. I could not for the life of me figure out why I kept getting "updates" ready for the next restart. I thought it was because I just plugged in my phone, so it counted as a hardware change, so the pc needed a restart. Then I could not figure out where those updates that were mentioned were on Tuesday were. Then I just looked, and it's all been done automatically.
Even those "DRM" updates I've been avoiding like the plague, oh, and the ones for Windows Server, that I DON'T need.  :slap:  :rant2:
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Why on earth would MS think you need WHS updates?  ::)

Strange I had 12 updates for my Win 7 64 bit yesterday, and there's no mention of anything relating to Windows server in any of mine.  ???
No problems during or after installing them either.

Me neither, Ray. Perhaps MS are picking on Ben? ;)

Is that Windows Home Server? Oh, it's from like over a year ago. I know, it's part of win 7. I know, a lot of people use it, and it's probably good for me. But it's just the first example off the top of my head. Other things like the 160mb update for windows live, which eat my bandwidth, I'd rather wait till I need it. A better example would be windows Bit defender updates. AFAIK that is locked out of the home edition. So why bother installing it? I can not use it. Updates or none. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke..."

But it's mainly the DRM I have no desire for.

Windows Home Server, Ben. I agree with you, though, if I don't have it installed, don't give me updates for it.

I've just had a look at my update history the only entries I can find referring to Server updates are security updates for the .NET framework which is common to all OSs, so you will get offered it as an update.
