I am having  a problem with this scheduler, I'm trying to set up a task to run my FTP programme to automatically download a file on a from a remote server every week. I've set up a task to launch the FTP programme so that it will perform the download, however for some reason that I can't determine the Windows task scheduler is failing to launch the ftp exe file, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Does it need some command line switches, Ray?

No it doesn't, Rik, you just need to enter the path to the exe file on the actions tab like so C:\Program Files\SmartFTP\SmartFTP.exe but when you try to run the task you get the following errors in the History, launch failure and run failure.

Permission issue?

I can't see any obvious issues so far, but I suspect that could be the cause, Steve, I have noticed from the Task Manager that the programme tries to start gets up to about 9200kb and then terminates within about 4 or 5 seconds. I've tried setting up the same type of schedule with other programmes and they seem to work as expected.  :dunno:

Have you tried another FTP program, Ray?

Ray

Well it seems to work with Cuteftp, looks like I'll have to change my FTP programme.  :P
