3m+ Vodafone users with no service

Apparently, a datacentre has beeen broken in to, and equipment has been stolen.

Presumably for the value of the metal? That kind of theft is going to become more prevalent in a recession while metal prices are high.

Always seems to be Vodafone this happens to doesn't it, remember reading a couple of years back that thieves broke into a facility housing equipment that operated the pager network.

Presumably the other operators have tougher security/fewer facilitiies.

Voice and text apparently up and running again.

The BT engineer that is sat next to me, still can't call his phone, but his colleague over in Surrey has a service.  :dunno:

We use vodafone as our supplier at work and this problem caused a major business continuity alert to be issued. Apparently those on voice only phones were the only ones affected.
