A Flash plug in? >:D Hope they have sorted out their Flash problem?

Stevescat

Definitely no Flash on the iPad. Flash is the

I think the words 'hell' and 'freeze over' spring to mind.

Think the iPad is named wrong, it should be called the iSlab

Looking at the upcoming apps i.e GarageBand and iMovie the iPad tablet is becoming a real laptop replacement.

There is no Flash problem. It's a FEATURE.

That's quite amusing :D

You know what's odd? I can't stand the way Apple do things, and try to control every aspect of the media world, trying to force everyone to do things their way, and yet I was sitting in work today mulling over getting an ipad2. I want a laptop, but for it to be any good for what I'd want, I'd have to spend a lot more than the £349 these will apparently cost, according to a few preview sites I was reading last night. Okay it's just a big iphone (oh and my headphones died on the iphone the other week after next to no use at all. Great. I use them 5 times a week, 20 minutes a time!) but it would be the perfect thing to have around the house now I've got wireless enabled. It would be easy for my mum to use, and I could set it up easily for her to access her emails (or not, now I know the source of my aunts virus problems! They were emailing each other spam jokes via email, a couple of which had links to virus sites on them, which luckily my mum didn't click but my aunt did!).

It's an actual solution to her not having a laptop, and me wanting one but not having the near £2000 I'd need to spend to get one powerful enough to do what I'd want. I hate being restricted by things! As I have a camera and 3 lenses to buy, amongst other things, the laptop is waaaaaaay down the list.

While your ponder, Niall, you won't get an iPad2 for £349. The Apple Store are currently selling the first iPad for £329 (16Gb WiFi only). The new iPad is going to be around £439? (16Gb WiFi only). This could make a big difference to your decision.

What's the extra for?  The '2'?

It's the pigments, you know. :)

Yes, white pigments are extremely rare, hence the additional cost over black ones.  ;D

Odd that car manufacturers do it the other way round.

Any colour you like, as long as it's black?

That used to be the way, didn't it. Fashion's a funny thing.

True, neither is white, only less so - unless, of course, you use subtractive primaries.  ;D

Well I don't really know much about their products, but one of the seemingly main review sites has stated they'll come out at the price the original one did. I dunno what that is though, but they quoted a figure around that. Like I say, I have no idea how true, if at all, it is. It'd be okay for that price, but at £439 I'll buy a decent netbook instead!
