Hi

I have a new 2700 HGV with the following details:

firmware 5.29.107.12
Hardware vers:2701-100589-005
Assembly: 4201-003003 -007

I have not flashed it, its as i bought it.
I have followed the instructions at bt2700hgv,tripod.com and still cant get it to connect,
the internet light is red. I have tried the javascript method and the opera setup method.
I get the following:   Error: The configured Network username or password is not recognized.

I am at a loss of what to do next. Do i need to try a differant firmware?

can anyone help

Thanks

Follow this simple guide step by step, be sure to reset the router to it's factory defaults when doing so.

Check that you are using the correct username and password.

If that does not work, you may have a stale session.

Hi

Many thanks for the information.

Its up and running. I had a couple of problems. Once i followed you guide and got to
the last page it hung for ages and came up with: waiting for dns server information
I re tried a couple of times but it still came up the same. I tried to connect to the internet
and it worked. I now tried to enter the correct information for my isp vpi, vci etc and went to save
and it came up with invalid username etc. So i then tried using: javascript:document.pagepost.submit()
in my browser instead and this time it saved it. It still says next to Configuration Server Post: Waiting for DNS information
Is this normal?

Thanks again for you help. :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

I'm on the same firmware, but I'm not sure which screen you're looking at. Could you post the URL?

Doesn't work on my router, can you post a screengrab and I'll work it out from there?

Hi

whats the best way to do the screen grab??

thanks

Rik

Press Alt+PrtScr, then paste into any bitmap editor you have, eg Paint. Save the image, then post here using the Reply button (not the quick reply box), choose 'Additional options' then add the image to the post as an attachment.

Rik, It will probably work if you change home for the ip address.

It was, but it revealed your IP address, so I've just deleted it :)

Absolutely identical to mine, so don't worry about it.

Glenn

I think it was looking for the BT config server that it is blocked from accessing.

Hi

Thanks for all the help to everyone. Great forum.

One last thing, whats the button on the bottom of the router with the
keyhole symbol? Cant seem to find anything in its manual.

Rik

It's meant to allow you to connect someone temporarily to your BB connection, without giving them full network access. No-one's ever worked out quite how it works, though, afaik.
