Java and IE9

Since installing IE9 on win 7 my java applet ceased working.
Despite installing/uninstalling/tweaking etc etc there was no way it was going to spring to life.
So, kicked off IE9 in favour of IE8 and java now works perfectly.
Such is MS progress I suppose!!
