Thanks, Ray. I got one from 'HSBC' this morning, asking me to click a link, which was http://www.guaracitur.com.br/wages/IBlogin.html. Must try harder. :)

It's always slightly unsettling when you get ones saying your card has been charged, even when you know you haven't placed an order.

The first thing I do is check the account online. Then I report the scam attempts. Then I create wax dolls representing the scammers and stick pins in them. ;D

Trouble is, it might not appear on the account for a couple of days, but I guess it would show as a pending charge, if there was anything there.  Or, you could ring the card company.

Usually it would show as pending, but sometimes companies are quite last posting amounts, so a call would then be necessary. The wax dolls, though, as essential.  ;D

Just received number 3, all apparently coming from different sources when you look at the headers.

I have had a few odd ones in the last week, from .ru and .it addresses, since I do not know anyone that uses .ru or .it and these were scams I just blocked the domains.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

I wonder if it's anything to do with Play.com?

It may be although I did not receive, the play.com one itself I did get an odd one from meandmymoney.co.uk it was put into junk by my filters but if it was legit it was so badly done...it was talked about here : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2510621&page=2

So much for online banking making things easier, Mitch.  ::) You have to be more vigilant than ever these days.

That's true, but I know some people that will just not access their info from online yet still buy online  :dunno:
