Can anyone help please

In 1997, I produced the Book of Remembrance for Dunblane, following the massacre there. Back then, I backed up to Travan TR4 tapes (DC2120). I didn't, in those days, make multiple media backups, and so I now have a tape cartridge but no drive to lift the files with.

Does anyone have a working Travan drive that they could use to extract the backup to CD for me please?

In case you're wondering, I'd like to modify the electronic version as so much has changed in terms of email addresses and locations for the PDF since then.

Thanks.

I'd need the original files, ideally, Lance.

Never even heard of a Travan drive!  Can you not just amend the PDF?

So can you not download a copy from there and save it?

Rik

I have the PDF locally, Glenn, just not the original text, image and PageMaker files.

I've got an old Hewlett Packard Colorado tape drive that uses 2.5/5Gb Travan tapes, Rik, but I don't know if there is any software available for it now that will work with the current Windows OSs.

Thanks, Glenn, I'll give them a call.

I know what you mean, Ray, the timing dates back to Windows 95.

Would a win95 virtual machine be able to use the hardware?

According to some info I've found on the HP site it should work on XP, Rik, I'll stick it into an old MC I've got with XP still on it over the weekend and see if it still works.

Could you copy the files off for me, then, Ray?
