I have thought of deleting the email account on my phone and reinstalling it (worth a try ) The phone still works on the interernet but I noticed yesterday how quiet it had gone and Im still struggling with my pc let alone the damned phone now ......Im getting past it

Depends whose mail servers you have set the phone to use, David, I use a T-mobile phone and I've got mine set up to use Idnet mail servers on one acccount and my own domain mail servers on another account, I've had no problems with either.

Your best first step is to check that all the settings in your mail account are correct eg username, passwords and mail servers.

Thanks Ray I will I have set up for Idnet as server and also Gmail for fowarding its worked for over a year even up to last saturday but suddenly its gone quiet nothing has been touched so at a loss to think what it could be the only thing which has been done is that I asked Matty to clear off (delete) all my email on the phone but cant see this having affected anything I will check the settings and see if I can sort it I have checked the E71 sites no issues there not on Tmoble..odd

Are you sure Matty hasn't deleted the email account as well as the emails, David?   Failing that, check that the checking interval hasn't been changed, or simply that email notifications haven't been turned off.
