Hi
Can anyone tell me what download speeds to expect using Azureus P2P?
An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing

Lance

I use Azureus and as long as the torrent has plenty of seeders, it will download nice and fast (I've had over 400kbps before ~the limit of my line).

The speed you get is entirely dependant on the particular torrent you are downloading, and the maximum speed of your line. Obviously, IDNet do not shape, throttle or otherwise limit P2P traffic.

Thanks
Lance

What happened to the "limit of your line" and by whom?

I'm a little confused! If you are referring to the >400kbps I gave, that was simply when I was downloading a popular torrent and it hit the limit of my line (which is about 410kbps download). I feel that if I had a better line (eg closer to the exchange) then the speed would have continued rising higher.

As Lance says, he is referring to the physical characteristics which define our lines and, on which basis, BT set the IP profile. My profile is 2500, I sync just a few k below a 3000 profile.

Me too, I was confused
I thought you meant you'd had your line "throttled" for something you had done.
I go "live" with IDNet on Thursday
At present I am with Pis*ex and am trying to download Trailer Park Boys the movie, and am getting it at a fantastic speed of 4.9 Kb/s and am 590 meters from my local exchange (Ayr).
My line speed is 5600 Kb/s

I think you might just notice the difference over here then. :)

Nope, just referring to my physical line :)
