OK, it will probably help to clear up some terminology here. An ADSL lead is usually taken to refer to the lead between the modem/router and the phone socket. The lead from the router to the computer is generally referred to as an ethernet, or network, lead. You can substitute cable for lead if you prefer.

The problem is occurring on the phone side of the connection. The network connection, wireless or cabled, would not affect noise pickup and loss of sync. That is purely a function of your internal phone wiring or, possibly, your phone line.

Hi Alan

If you take a look in the Routerstats log for last night, and compare it with the time given by the router's log for the LOS, you might get a good idea of what happened.

Your graph this morning shows your target noise margin has increased to 15db (the maximum), so noise is definitely the issue. Do check through your internal wiring and, if you are happy with that and the problem persists, contact support so that can run some tests.

Just one last question for this morning Rik,do my stats this morning mean that the interference is only occuring at night?,if so it will narrow my sluething time down a bit ...Regards  Alan

The graph certainly suggests that, Alan, you only have a small amount of variation in your noise margin compared to yesterday's graph.

However... You may find that, when you re-sync, you pick up a different bundle of frequencies, and that you are more, or less, susceptible to noise pickup after another sync event.
