I just checked for updates a minute ago, purely out of boredom and found this. It's about 75% installed. I imagine it'll be totally awesome and let me get a signal now. Yes indeed.

iTunes has finally deemed me worthy of receiving this update :yeay:

One thing, why is the download so slow. I've noticed this with other iPhone updates, they take an age to download :dunno:

Lack of server capacity, Zap? I agree, they are always slow.

I think the tracks you can buy plus the store interface are hosted on the Akamai CDN but as Apple are such paranoid control freaks the Apple 'secret sauce' is probably only stored on a Mac Mini running OS X server sitting on Lord Jobs' desk.

And for anyone that may accuse me of Apple bashing that was a joke.

I do like the look of the new iPod Nano but am trying to find out whether it will talk to my JVC BoomBlaster (Powered woofer CD/Tuner/iPod system which was designed to work with the Nano 3G which I currently have.

Since this update, the lovely short battery life has returned, albeit not as bad as the last time. Overnight it's using 25-28% of battery life whilst doing nothing.

I don't understand that - it must be doing something.  :dunno:  Is that even with the phone powered off?  I still haven't upgraded from 4.1, as I want to keep the jailbreak.

No idea why it does it. It could be an app that's doesn't work with the new O/S. Without removing all my apps and reinstalling them all one at a time, I'll never know, and I'm not spending that sort of time on it. I have noticed though, that Facebook crashes a LOT on start up now. Before it was just occasional, but now it's 3-4 times out of 15 loads, approximately. It's weird really. I dunno why, it's a bit cr*p really.

I read somewhere else that the Facebook app had gone a bit pear shaped since an update.

Its been updates several times and has been weird, not as crashing on me but last fb update did, best to remove it and use the web version and just add a link to your homescreen tbh.
