I am assuming I don't need to phone support to remind them? Think they'll have it in hand :)

Rik

Gladly, Tina, but unfortunately I can't as we don't have an IDNet IP address logged for you. :(

Your line card has failed, Tina, and needs to be replaced. This work is due to be completed by 6pm tomorrow.

oh what does that mean. is it anything I've done? do they need to come to my house? Thanks for phoning for me :)

Rik

It's nothing you've done, Tina, just a failure at the exchange. BT will replace the card (which will be affecting many other people), effectively re-providing the service as if you were a new customer. There will be no need for them to come to the house. :)

The line card is what your line plugs into at the exchange (nothing you've done, they just fail sometimes). They shouldn't need to come to your house, but may do so to check it is working after the work has been completed.

Or what Rik said!

Thanks for your help. I persume I'll know it's fixed when the red light on my router goes off? You've been a star as usual :)

Rik

That's the theory, Tina, though currently you have sync but no PPP, so there's a small risk that you have a stale session. I'd suggest powering the router off for a few hours.

My internet is still down. Been down since Friday night. I do hope BT fix it by 6PM  today, as they said they would.
